Instant Waste Management are one of the largest private waste recycling companies in Western Australia, boasting a fleet of over 100 trucks. The problem they were experiencing was managing a high volume of drivers and deliveries through what was largely, a paper based system. In addition to this, they were seeking to capture more data in order to increase efficiency across the fleet and have real time access to the location of company vehicles.
To achieve these goals, Dapper Apps was engaged to develop a custom Android tablet app and business management system that has become a business-critical tool for IWM. The technology suite developed has a high level of complexity due to the advanced functionality and integration with their existing job booking and management system.
App Feature
The system provides Instant Waste Management drivers and management with the ability to
- View all of their scheduled jobs and plan their route
- Automatically optimise the drivers route based on travel time, average job time, shift start and finish time. Some drivers may have 80 or more jobs per day, so this has resulted in significant improvements
- Complete all job information through the app and have this feed back to administrators in real time
- Complete fit to work and pre-start vehicle assessments
- Record break times, downtime and log maintenance issues
- Instant messaging and chat between administrators and drivers
- Administrators can view the live location of all drivers and vehicles
- Push notifications
- Live notifications and reports for critical issues
- Generate a range of business intelligence reports that assess driver productivity
Dapper are continuing to work with Instant Waste Management on an ongoing basis to further automate and improve the efficiency of their business processes and systems.
